Making Bank on the College (Career) Track

Published: Nov 02, 2009

Looking for a career with the potential to make a decent amount of money, in a growth industry, and a field that’s almost completely unaffected by recession? Why not get on track to become a college president: the job pays more than $1 million in at least 23 locations at present, with more instant millionaires expected around the country as the recovery takes hold.

Even those who don’t crack the million dollar barrier don’t have too much to despair over; The Associated Press (via Slate) points out that the median salary for the position is around $359,000. And, just to prove how recession-proof the profession is, that figure represents an increase of 7 percent over last year.

Nice work, if you can get it.
