Job Search Resource of the Week (7/21/09): Diversity offeri

Published: Jul 21, 2009

There are scores of recent law school grads -- and others who have been tossed out recently as part of corporate cost-cutting housecleanings -- who need a little guidance. Everyone wants to know: Where are the jobs these days, and what's the best way to snatch them from the jaws of the roaming packs of hungry job seekers? And for minority students, there's even more to consider.

So now is a great time to remind all you Pink Slippped followers of our upcoming Vault/MCCA Legal Diversity Career Fair, to be held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City on August 7. Hiring decision-makers and recruiters from law firms, federal agencies and well-known companies will be on hand during the all-day (8.30am--3.30pm) affair. There's a full schedule of presentations and panel discussions, and insiders will give their angles on "rain making tactics, getting involved in diversity initiatives, practice area development, board room management and work/life balance." If that sounds like just what you need to kick your butt into career fighting mode, click here (for law students) or here (for lateral movers) to register.

And to prep for the seminar, why not dip into our jointly launched 2009 Law Firm Diversity Database? Just fill out the registration, and you can see how top firms stack up on a variety of diversity criteria. There are no fees for database access or admission to the seminar, so you have absolutely no excuses.
