Free Food > Sleeping In [Wake up and grub!]

Published: May 01, 2009

Somewhere in the slumbering haze of your layoff, you may have grown unaccustomed to waking up before the crack of noon. However, if you’re able to drag yourself out of bed at the ungodly hour of, say, 11:00 next week, you’ll be able to score something much more valuable to your layoff than early afternoon sleep: Free Grub!

Today’s recipient of our “Favorite Unemployment Blog We Didn’t Know About Yesterday” award, The 405 Club, has notified us that, “Snapple is doing some sort of marketing gimmick next week in which it’s giving away free pizza lunches to the first 500 folks to show up at the following pizzerias (listed below).” To paraphrase Chief Clancy Wiggum, that’s some fine reportin,’ Lou.

The promotions are taking place at a different pizzeria each day of next week, and each one will last from 10:30 a.m. until the 500th customer gets their slice (Sorry, forgot to mention that this is strictly a New York City thing for now. The good news is that if we New Yorkers make it a success, maybe there will be hope for everyone else to get free slices as well. So there's your reason to be happy for us). We have no clue what this Snapple “marketing gimmick” is, and frankly, who cares? I always say, if it’s for free it’s for me. As such, be sure to say hi when you spot me among the first 500 people patronizing these fine establishments next week:
