Con-fident

Published: Aug 03, 2009

This just in from the Pink Slipped Statistical Measurement Laboratory:

We asked subscribers to tell us honestly: Have you ever lied on your resume? And while the majority of you (61%) are still honest to the core -- at least when it comes to resumes -- some may have to review their religion-of-choice's take on speaking untruths. One in eight admitted they outright lied or "adjusted" certain items to smooth over some obvious red flags. But twice as many (25% of the sample) said they "exaggerated" their credentials, and didn't seem to really count this as deceit.

What do you think: Is resume embellishment a "stand alone" act, or does it expose a person's broader "cheater" mentality? Is it because our ridiculously hyper-competitive (and now ultra-stressed) society demands drastic measures to get ahead? Throw in your two cents -- we need it, in these hard times.
