Cash for kiddie-sized clunkers, and a free chicken sandwich.

Published: Aug 28, 2009

Didn't get around to taking advantage of the cash for clunkers rebate on your busted jalopy? Not to worry, you can still score some serious discounts on a new set of wheels…for a child. According to USA Today, Toys R Us is running a cash for clunkers program of its own, offering a 20 percent discount on selected trade-in items, including highchairs, cribs and strollers. According to the firm, the deal is part of a national program to "spotlight potentially unsafe baby products still in the marketplace." Full details of the plan can be found here.

What's that you say? That's not free enough for you? You don't have kids? Your existing stroller is perfectly safe and features some tricked-out rims to boot? We've got no business calling this feature "Free Stuff Friday" unless it actually features something free? Fine. Chick-fil-A is offering a free chicken sandwich to the first 250,000 people who sign up to the "Chicken Wave." And, to further enhance the something-for-nothingness of the whole deal, they'll also put your name in a daily draw for a $50 gift card and they're running a promotion that involves free sandwiches for showing up in your favorite sports team's apparel on Labor Day. All details can be found right here.
