Arnie vs. The Economy

Published: Feb 22, 2010

"It's very clear that the comeback is not going to be as quick as we've seen in the past."—California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, quoted in BusinessWeek

That's the bad news. The good news is that Gov. Schwarzenegger also believes "the worst is over" and that California is on the verge of making a fiscal comeback. In perhaps the first instance of cross-party agreement in 2010, the article notes that Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell is on the same page as Arnie—at least when it comes to proclaiming that their states are getting back on track. "In the last three months together, we only lost 4,300 jobs and we were losing 3,000-40,000 a month a year ago."

All of which leaves me strangely hopeful for a turnaround, despite my previous post. I mean, if you were the recession, would you argue with this guy?
