With Bank of America planning to cut 30,000 jobs over the next few years, the need for job creation in financial services has become even more important than ever before. And on Friday, September 23, 2011, Vault.com will bring hiring in finance to the forefront when it presents its first Financial Services Diversity Recruiting Expo at the Eventi Hotel in New York City.

Business MenThe Expo is free to minority, female, LGBT, and candidates with disabilities, will provide attendees with an opportunity to meet recruiters from companies and government agencies looking to hire diverse candidates in finance, accounting, engineering, operations, IT, and management positions.  But if you qualify to participate, you only have one week left to register. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to present your resume in front of some of the top financial employers.

The event, which is similar to July’s 6, will feature PNC Bank, Macquarie Group, Lazard, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Navigant Consulting, and Peter J. Solomon Company.  In addition to the Recruiting Hall, some of these firms might invite registrants for special one-on-one interviews, but that is not promised.  However, like the lottery, you need to be in it to win it, so register today and get those resumes in front of important faces.

The Financial Services Diversity Recruiting Expo will also feature a luncheon, sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland, honoring the investment banks that have shown an exemplary commitment to diversity, as ranked in the latest Vault Banking Rankings.  Be on the lookout for those rankings of the best Banking Employers, which will be released on Monday.

Here is a quick rundown for those interested in attending.  The Eventi Hotel is located at 851 Avenue of the Americas.  Travel information can be found here, as well as information on other hotel nearby should visitors outside of the City need a place to stay for the weekend.  Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for registrants to check-in.  The Recruiting Hall will open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and break for the lunch and awards presentation before reopening from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.  Those who have registered should bring several copies of their resume.  However, printing stations will be available for guests.  For more information, go to www.vault.com/diversityexpo. We’ll see you there.
