The above describes a position that's equal parts job offer and publicity stunt for adidas golf, and that's currently open for applications. The company lists just three requirements on its homepage: "ability to play golf all over the world," "social media expertise," and "valid passport."
As for the job itself, the full description is vague enough to leave one wondering whether the company is even seeking to hire a "Social Media Catalyst" at all. While there are "responsibilities" listed—"candidates will be evaluate on their ability to effectively capture video content of the trip, communicate brand messages, interact with adidas Golf tour PRO's and build a base of followers through various social networks"—one line in particular serves as a serious warning sound for anyone hoping to parlay the opportunity into a permanent position: "If, at the conclusion of the 50 day adventure, the company determines that neither applicant is right for the position, the company reserves the right to consider additional candidates or may even eliminate the position."
Still, even with all of that in mind: if you're a golfer who's looking for work, why not give it a whirl? At least it would make for an interesting answer the next time you face the question about prior work experiences.

Talk about a drawn out interview process. We've all heard the stories about the candidate who gets called back for four and five interviews by a company that just can't commit (tip: if it takes that long, they're probably just not that into you). But what if the interview lasts 50 days, and requires you to do a significant amount of traveling and constant demonstration of your skills to try to land a job that the company might just decide to "eliminate" anyway.
