Robert A. Kindler, a vice chairman and the head of mergers and acquisitions at Morgan Stanley, has had a busy year. He's given M&A advice to numerous big-name companies, including Burger King, Continental Airlines, Qwest Communications, Avis Budget Group and Barnes & Noble, and still has found time to practice his Adho Mukha Svanasana (Kindler's a regular yoga practicioner).

Recently, Kindler was interviewed by Dealbook, which notes that the flexible banker "began his M&A career as a partner at the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore," and is "a competent flutist and the brother of the comedian Andy Kindler." In addition to telling Dealbook that he is "optimistic about the takeover market for the first time in years" and that "deal-making is going to be increasingly important in a low-growth economy," Kindler has this career advice to wouldbe lawyers or investment bankers: "It's better being a banker."
