According to indieWire, Richard Gere is rumored to be taking over for a departing Al Pacino as the leading man of Nicholas Jarecki's new film "Arbitrage."

"Arbitrage," which will begin shooting in New York City this spring, follows a "troubled hedge fund magnate desperate to complete the sale of his trading empire [who] makes an error that forces him to turn to an unlikely person for help" (spoiler alert: it's the Dalai Lama). The film will co-star Susan Sarandon as the magnate's wife and Eva Green as the magnate's mistress.

Given recent details uncovered in the Fed's insider trading investigation, I wonder if Jarecki will throw into the script a scene about a USB drive, a pair of pliers, and four garbage trucks. Or at least tip his hat with a token North Face fleece.
