Want to Get a Feel of Working in Sustainability Without Any

If you have been following the recent developments and growing interest in the field of sustainability, then you have probably wondered at least once where you could get some short-term hands on experience to decide if the field is right for you. Strategic Sustainability Consulting (SSC), a Washington D.C.-based consulting firm is looking for spring 2010 interns and they are not necessarily looking for college students. One of few firms who focus exclusively on social and environmental issues with companies, SSC is soliciting recent graduates as well as mid-career shifters.

And there is an added bonus, besides the small stipend it involves. You can work remotely, so you don't necessarily have to quit your job to gain some hands-on experience. If you have project management experience and can write eloquent research papers, this might be a good opportunity to get a foot in the door. So if you are still interested, here are the details:

Duration: January 18, 2010 - May 07, 2010
Pay: Stipend and performance-based bonus
Deadline: October 16, 2009
Contact info: Email resume, cover letter, two writing samples and references to denise@sustainabilityconsulting.com
Work: Writing research white papers, working on Green Audits with clients, creating case studies on green supply chains and developing employee surveys
