The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers is holding their annual conference starting today in Washington, D.C. A three-day affair, it promises to bring Hispanic students and professionals in the field of engineering together in direct contact with recruiters and career advisors. What's in it for you? A lot of workshops and seminars aimed at students as well as professionals and over three days of networking opportunities with recruiters, career advisors, and other professional engineers.

Interestingly, giving credence to the growing need and rising growth of green careers, one of the workshops is going to be Green Engineering, where experts in the sustainable field will discuss LEED certification test prep and the many aspects of efficient engineering from design to cost reductions.

SHPE also plans on offering LEED certification prep courses. To see the full agenda and workshop details, click here.

And even if green isn't for you, there are many more workshops that promise to up your ante in the search pool besides the many opportunities of networking the event promises to offer. With networking continuing to be the No. 1 job search tool, we say network, network, network.
