Vermont's Marlboro College announced this week that it will inculcate sustainability in its MBA curriculum this fall. They want their students to achieve a realistic approach to business. The courses will include sustainable economics and renewable energy classes besides the regular accounting, business and finance classes.

With Corporate Social Responsibility ascending in importance on the corporate priorities scale, other business schools will want to see this as an opportunity to prepare a more skilled workforce. Notwithstanding the stimulus given to the energy and renewable sources industries under the current administration, we are slowly but surely evolving as a workforce. With us, our skills will require upgrading. For long, these skills used to be considered alternative but they are already becoming mandatory for thousands of new jobs and it is just a matter of time before a new curriculum inculcating these will become a necessity.
