Harvard Business School's class day speaker was Kathy Giusti, founder and CEO of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) and one of TIME’s 100 most influential people 2011. She spoke about her unexpected turn from conventional pharma exec to cancer-stricken entrepreneur, and the journey that led her to find happiness in her life.

Giusti has said before that HBS is where she learned to problem-solve, create great action plans, and assemble the right teams to get things done. The school’s high-powered network also helped her, supported her, and rallied around her as she started her cancer research foundation. Some even helped her to write the business plan.

In her speech, she gave the following injunction:

Don’t wait for a crisis, a tragedy, a cancer diagnosis to do something amazing with your life. Ask yourself these questions now. Ask your selves how you can make a difference, what you want to change.
