Release that GMAT prep book from your clutch if you are planning on applying to NYU Stern’s Executive MBA program. Why’s that? Because you won’t have to submit any standardized test scores. Hurrah! No GMAT, no GRE, no panicking over taking the kind of test you haven’t taken in over 15 years.

The school is changing its policy because its average student is 38 years old with 14 years of experience, making the test unnecessary, explains Heather Daly, director of executive M.B.A. recruitment and admissions. Some 40% of students also already have an advanced degree.

The downside is that if you haven’t been endowed with the gift of quantitative thinking skills, then you might be required to take some additional coursework
