2009 Wharton Women in Business Conference

This Friday, October 9th, the Wharton School is hosting the 11th annual Women in Business Conference organized by the school's Women in Business Club. The 2009 conference--called Unprecedented Times, Unprecedented Women--will feature keynote speeches by Sallie Krawcheck, president, global wealth and investment management of Bank of America, and Shelly Lazarus, chairman of Oglivy & Mather Worldwide.

In addition, the conference will feature panels of top women executives and industry leaders on work/life balance, networking, negotiating, entrepreneurship, global careers, the current hiring climate and thoughts on the economic crisis. Panelists include Laura A. Liswood, senior advisor, Goldman Sachs; Beth Bovis, partner, A.T. Kearney; Marisa Drew, managing director, Credit Suisse; Julia Allison, cofounder, NonSociety.com; and Janet Hanson, CEO and founder, 85 Broads.

2009 is also an important year for women at the Wharton School, as female students make up 40 percent of the class of 2011. The highest in Wharton's history and above the national average.

The 2009 conference is at the Park Hyatt in Philadelphia and open to the public. If you're applying to business school this year or starting to think about next year, check it out.
