Dear Mr. Cotton:

Thank you for talking with me on the phone today regarding the position of Ferris Wheel operator at the Coney Island Amusement Park. Per our discussion, I have enclosed my resume and a letter of reference. As you can see, my reference is not directly involved with the carnival circuit. He is, however, quite familiar with media circuses.

Though the majority of my experience is in acrobatics and tumbling, I have been exposed to just about every carnival ride in this country. As I mentioned on the phone, I have traveled with two carnivals and spent three years with a popular circus on the West Coast. Having had the opportunity to operate the Ferris Wheel numerous times over the past six years, I believe I have the skills and patience necessary to do the job full time. I am relocating to the East Coast this summer, and am eager to be a part of an attraction with such a rich and exciting history.
